The copper bell chimes midnight and stirs my peaceful soul,
Yet sleep, the life's old keeper, won't come to take its toll.
On beaten paths my mind will take me without strife,
To make me understand that death resembles life;
And nowadays my thoughts in balance are already
Because between the two the pointer's always steady.
